The Lions Districts has received disaster relief grant of USD $10,000/- from the Lions International through its Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF)
This LCIF grant will be fully focused on helping out the recent flood victims in different areas by preparing and distributing dry rations. Many Lions Clubs in different geographical areas have come forward to collect dry rations and distribute them to most needed areas.
We, members of Lions Club of Gothatuwa New Century Leo also received 100 numbers of dry ration packs from the Lions District 306C1 to distribute among the needy families. The pack included daily essentials such as rice, dhal, flour, sugar, tea, panadol, water bottles etc. Our members selected most affected families due to recent flood and collectively distributed the dry ration packs to them during the last 3 days. Out of them most were distributed to Hanwella, Kotikawatte and Angoda areas.
